Katsu Padpong Curry @ La Moon Cafe

Padpong curry fried rice with katsu style breaded chicken and a side of tung thong (money bags) at Lamoon Café. The chicken cutlet is in the Japanese style, like a katsudon, but it's served with padpong fried rice (which is one of my favourite dishes when served with crab in a fancy restaurant). It is a great combination.

The tung thong are little packages of minced pork wrapped in wafer thin rice paper served with a sweet dip. Their hot lattes and other coffees are up there with the best in town, not to mention their smoothies.

La Moon Café has Wi-Fi and nice comfortable seating and is a busy place in the afternoons, so a great place to meet a friend for a drink. They do nice cakes too.
You can sit in the coffee shop section, which is air-con, or you can sit outside in the nicely decorated and well shaded leafy garden. You can also sit in the second building, which is more suitable for group lunches or if you want to sit at a proper wooden table and get some work done.

La Moon Cafe info:

Open: 8am - 7pm

Tel: 089 844 5534

Address: 110 Suranaree Road, Nai Muang, Korat, 30000 (in the car park for The Rachapruek Grand Hotel)

There are several branches in town. My favourite is behind the Ratchapreuk Hotel in the rear car park, just a minute's walk from the George & Dragon. You can also find Lamoon at the corner of the corridor that connects the cinema and the IT sections of The Mall, or on Suranarai Road, near the entrance to Homegardenville - โฮมการ์เด้นวิลล์.
