Great Meal @ Sabua

There are so many great restaurants in Korat that it is hard to pick out a favourite, but Sabua has a strong case for one of the best places for a good lunch. The thing that sets it aside from other venues is the quality of the meat they use in their dishes.

They make tom yam with big succulent pieces of chicken breast, in a thick broth with lots of veg. The moo dediow was out of this world; thin and crispy, yet it had a good chewy bite to it as well. We also ordered a giant plate of pork fried rice that was enough for 4-5 big hungry boys, and a chicken larb that was made with good minced chicken and lots of fresh herbs for a very refreshing flavour.

The overall meal came to 560 Baht between 4 with soft drinks, a decent price for a good sit down meal.

Another real attraction to this restaurant is that they have a juke box outside with hundreds of songs. You can head up and stick in 5 Baht to play a song. Though their English selection is very limited, it is still nice to plonk a few songs on.

Sabua is tricky to get to without a map, but you will find it by Snam Kilar Klang opposite Changon Technology School, just east of Chang Phuak Road.

It is an outdoor restaurant that gets very busy at lunch times with local workers and students.

Open: 11:00am - 00:00am (though the kitchen closes at about 10:00pm depending on if there is anyone there)
