Lomosonic @ Check In Korat

Wednesday 23rd July 2014

Lomosonic were formed by Otto and Thong-ek, both students at an Architecture and Design University to perform in a University Battle of the Bands contest. They persuaded a younger student Aum, who they knew had an excellent voice to join and the band. They then recruited Boy and the band was born.

They were originally known as LOMO Sony, taking their name from a type of camera made by Sony, but changed it to Lomosonic as they grew bigger and before issues with the Japanese company would make problems for the band.

They released their first album Fireworks five years ago.

They followed it up a year ago with their second, Echo and Silence which featured a staggering 19 songs on it, but they did have four years to write and record it which could explain the excessive number of songs.

They have also released a limited edition live DVD concert - Merchandisc Vol. 1 - from their performance at Fat Festival 9 in 2009.

They are included on the soundtrack for the up-coming movie Carabao about the life of the Thai Country Superstar, where they cover the Carabao song 'Made in Thailand'.

Lomosonic will be performing at Check In Korat (not at the Check Inn opposite Siripattana Hotel) on Wednesday July 23rd. Tickets are available for 200 Baht each which includes a free bottle of Shinga Beer. Tickets are available from the venue.
