Yaki Tori Don @ Sap Shabu

This is a lovely random find on Rachnikun Road on the south side of the Old Town moat near Bathu Phee (The Ghost Gate). It opened in September 2013 and has a great selection of Japanese and Thai style dishes, provided in a relaxing air con restaurant by very friendly staff.

The yaki tori don was tasty grilled chicken dish served on Japanese style rice with tomato and cucumber. Yaki tori means 'skewered grill' in Japanese and it has a sweet glazed finish and wonderful grilled flavour. It also comes with a bowl of miso soup. For 90 baht, it is well worth it, and a good place for a quiet lunch, or a late evening meal.

The restaurant has free wifi and pleasant (not too loud) music ranging from Thai, Japanese, Korean and western.
