Chicken Cordon Bleu @ Sweet Café

For 125 Baht this has got to be one of the best value western meals in Korat. I would expect to pay double that anywhere else for what I got. A good portion of hammy, cheesy bread-crumbed chicken served with mashed potatoes, chips, vegetables, salad and a dash of gravy.

The piece of chicken was large and the filling was creamy and tasty. They still only had the usual ketchup or sweet chili ketchup which I always avoid at the risk of making everything taste the same, but I'm sure they will make higher calibre sauces in due course - Korat is changing...

The most impressive thing about his place is the variety or things on the menu that you wouldn't have found in Korat not long ago. As with so many places now, western food and style is taking over and Sweet Café have done it very well.

This café has been recommended a few times and I have always dismissed it as just another Korat coffeehouse. I will now be eating there regularly. It feels like a gastro pub, not a regular coffee shop.

The seating inside is very comfortable, with lots of seats by windows. For the best place to sit,  I would recommend the lovely little booth that juts out into the courtyard. It's almost like sitting in an orangery.

The mango & passion fruit smoothie I washed it down with was good and had a hint of mint.
