Go fishing @ AndiMo's Fishing Park

AndiMo's is a peaceful and beautiful new fishing park offering a great place to do a day's fishing in a rural setting whilst waiting for the big catch. It is situated between the Buriram Road and the Khon Kaen Road, not too far from Wat Panom Wan in the Chaloem Phra Kiat district of Korat.

Andi (from Austria) and his wife Mo have a grand house, with three well set out guest rooms for those who are visiting the fishing park from out of town. The Grand Room offers luxury and a part of the main household. The Standard Room is smaller and ideal for the single fisherman. The Fishing Cottage is a quaint teak style Thai room with a wooden terrace on the side of the fishing lake, with it's own fishing pontoon and is just a minute's walk from the main house and pool/bar area.

After your day of fishing, relax by the pool or on the terrace enjoying the view of the countryside. You can even enjoy a game of pool, or have a drink overlooking the the lake and lush surrounding rice fields and palm groves. The scenery and greenery goes back as far as you can see. The resort is a suitable setting for anyone looking for a peaceful and tranquil few days out of town in the Thai countryside.

Andi is, and always has been, an avid fisherman. He prides himself in having some of the most magnificent fish in the province and his fishing park hosts some real beauties! His collection boasts some fish that are over 100kg in weight and, in time, could be up to a staggering 150kg! This is the real deal, and here is a list of what you can expect to try and catch.

Varieties of Fish at AndiMo's Fishing Park:

Alligator Gar
Wonderful selection of Catfish: Amazon Red Tail - Asian Red Tail - Mekong Giant - Ripsaw - Tiger - Goonch
Giant Pangasius
Iridescent Shark
Carp: Siamese Giant - Jullien's Golden - Common - Black Shark - Grass
Featherback: Giant - Clown - Blanc's Striped
Pacu: Black - Black-Finned - Red-Bellied
Giant Gourami
Chinese Seerfish
Giant Freshwater Stingray

The fishing is second to none in Korat. Andi has the best fishing rods, equipment and nets you will find and even has an electronic bite indicator that will tell you when you have caught something so you can literally relax and enjoy the ambiance during your break in the countryside.

When you do catch a fish (they are all different sizes), there is a chance that you will not be able to lift it, so you will have to jump in the water and use the cage to keep the fish near you. Handle it with care whilst taking you photo and don't forget to spray its mouth with disinfectant before releasing it back into the lake. A day of fishing and chilling out at AndiMo's made my weekend and makes a refreshing change from my regular city life.

AndiMo's accepts a maximum of 2 anglers per day on each of its fishing points around the lake, making it an excellent experience for serious fishermen. One fishing point is close to the house with luxury guest rooms, and the other is on the side of the lake and has its own fisherman's cottage and private fishing jetty.

Fishing & Accommodation Rates:

The three rooms available range from 1,700 - 2,500 Baht per night with a full day's fishing, rods and bait costing 2,300 Baht per angler

For those not staying over, the day rate is 2,500 Baht

Directions: The best way to get there is to call in advance and get collected from the main road (either north of the Joho Flyover or out on the Buriram Road on the way to Tha Chang) or guided in, as the roads are small and tricky to navigate.

They can escort you the 6km or so through small villages to the fishing park. A map pin point has been attempted, but we would recommend phoning to ensure safe arrival.
