Tennis @ The King's Stadium Complex

The sports facilities out by The King's Stadium are modern and well kept. I have to say that the tennis courts are particularly impressive and incredible value. It's 50 Baht per hour for the courts, though there is no equipment for rent so you will have to take your own racquets and balls.

If you don't have time to play in the day (or are not a fan of playing in the heat), you can get there after sundown and pay a fee of 100 Baht per hour to play with the flood lights on.

The courts are clean, modern and have no damage that I saw. The nets are good, and the flood lights were powerful - in fact, one interfered with my serve at one end, but then again, I will blame anything for a double fault. There are plenty of bugs around, but I didn't notice too many mosquitoes. Still, best to take some spray if you are playing at dusk.

Overall there are 9 courts, and it is not busy, so they do not take bookings. I was told that they have never been fully booked. I did ask about using the 'Centre Court', but was told I wasn't allowed. Perhaps keen tennis players can use it for competitions? Enquire at the booking kiosk - which is behind the centre court - if you want to know when the tournaments are.

You are advised to take a bottle of water, though you can buy drinks at the football stadium which is just a 5 minute walk away.
