Beef Madras @ Staffords in Prasat

We all love a good curry and the Beef Madras you'll find at Staffords in Prasat if your travelling to Surin or doing a visa run to Chong Chom is a particularly good one.

It's a chick gravy, with a medium curry flavour just like a madras should be with a generous amount of tomato within the sauce. The big chunks of beef are very tender and have been stewed in the gravy for a good while to give it the distinctive madras flavour.

It is served with Pilau Rice, a Tomato and Cucumber Salad and two Poppadoms.

The Pilau rice was excellent and such a change from the usual boiled rice we all get everywhere. It had a subtle turmeric flavour, along with the wonderful flavour of fresh cardamom with quite a few whole cardamom seeds visible within the rice.

The salad was made from finely chopped tomato, onion and cucumber. It was delicious and a real palate cleanser and cooler in between mouthfuls of the hot curry.

The poppadoms were light, thin and very crispy and a perfect accompaniment for the meal.

Altogether an excellent meal, very filling (the portion size was huge), very tasty and a lovely change from all the chicken and pork dishes with boiled rice we all eat so often. Very Highly Recommended. TS
