Pho Noodles @ Viet Cuisine

I never used to eat in The Mall, because it isn't a normal thing to do back where I was brought up, but the number of decent restaurants serving quality food in Korat's ever expanding array of shopping malls is increasing and it can be a nice place to grab lunch or an early evening meal whilst running errands. Before I do my supermarket shopping, I like to eat these tasty noodles in front of Gourmet Market.

The restaurant is a bit on show, but if you can get over eating in public, this is a good place to fill up before your weekly shop. Service is very quick and prices are reasonable, with a big bowl of Vietnamese style noodles costing between 79 - 99 Baht (if the special offer is on, or 140-160 Baht if not) depending on whether you go for beef, fish or salmon. We know salmon is a fish, but they are the categories they offer.

The beef noodles and salmon noodles are good, served in a sour tom yam soup broth. They don't go shy on the salmon either.

The spring rolls and deep fried prawn thingies are also very yummy, but a special mention should be made for the Vietnamese style deep fried crispy pancake stuffed with your choice of minced pork or shrimp and bean sprouts. It's a big portion that will do 2 people as an auxiliary dish.

There aren't that many decent Vietnamese restaurants in Korat, that use good quality ingredients and offer air-con, so this one does come high on the list.
