Get a proper helmet @ Korat Deechai Alai

It seems that in Thailand, it's often a case of 'safety third', as opposed to its primary ranking in the world of the west. For that reason, I always make sure that I have a good helmet when I ride my motorbike around town. It's difficult to find a good shop that has large sizes, and I find that most Thai helmets just don't fit my oval head. It seems helmets are designed for circular heads, and this often causes chaffing or cutting at the front and back, or most of the time I simply can't get the bloody thing on my head!

If this sounds all too familiar, I can highly recommend Korat Deechai Alai in the Old Town. It's opposite Ruam Mit School next to the TMB Bank on Prajak Road. They have all sorts of helmets ranging from the simple to the fashionable and the plain safe. Prices vary from about 100 Baht up to 2,000+ Baht depending on your needs and priorities, but if you want a decent, large helmet, this is a great place to try. Styles vary, but the selection is good.
