Book a flight @ Air Asia

Lots of the Farang who are visiting and living in Thailand need to leave the country for various reasons every now and then. The most common reason being to extend tourist visas. The easiest way is to head to any of the country's land borders and stamp yourself in and out. But why just cross a Cambodian, Laos, or Myanmar border when you could get on a plane and fly anywhere in South East Asia for a little more than the cost of a Cambodian or Laos visa.

And the cheapest option is normally Air Asia, who are currently offering flights from Bangkok and other Thai Airports to Hong Kong, Singapore and Yangon from as little as 555 Baht, which is just over half the price of a Cambodian visa. If you want to travel further afield how about Macau, Chongqing, Kunming or Shenzhen from as little as 2090 Baht. There are conditions such as you must travel between 14th May and 30th June, but these are usually easy to accommodate.

Air Asia are a quality airline and constantly win awards including winning the Skytrax Worlds Best Low-Cost Airline award for the last five years in a row. But don't expect Air Emirates first class service. Air Asia are a low-cost airline so if you want a meal on your flight you will need to pay extra for it (normally between 99 Baht and 199 Baht). Your quoted ticket price will also not include airport tax, insurance, etc. which are added on at checkout, but that is standard practice for low-cost airlines worldwide. They may also charge you for seat selection, but you can uncheck this option if you are flexible or travelling alone and don't mind where you are sitting.

So instead of driving to the nearest land border the next time you need to leave the country, visit and check out what other options are available for a  far more interesting weekend break, or for even longer.
