Wanting to enjoy a 'foodies' weekend, myself with Thai and Norwegian friends and partners finally took the opportunity to try Lecker Lecker, after hearing and reading so many positive remarks and comments about the place. It's not too difficult to find, just past Makro, through the lights and go into the inner two lanes of the highway then turn left immediately after Vongchavalitkul University. Follow the road (more of a dirt track after rain) and at the end of it turn left. Follow for about 75 yards and the cosy sized restaurant is just on the right side of the road.
We called ahead earlier in the day, seeing as they had the spare ribs and mash special on a limited 'whilst stocks last' promotion and didn't wish to miss out. We were warmly guided in via telephone and welcomed by the family upon arrival.
After selecting various refreshments, we proceeded to order several dishes to include the spare ribs and mash, pizzas and schnitzel, along with a few Thai dishes. The warmest of welcomes - afforded to all of us - continued, and was promptly followed by a light and refreshing small complimentary salad bowl; nicely presented and dressed in balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil for a change (and not drowned in local sugary salad cream thankfully!)
The most delicious looking main dishes that soon followed had all of us smiling, and very much enjoying! The abundant meat on the ribs peeled effortlessly away from the bone and the accompanying tenderness with perfectly combined flavours meant the meat simply melted in our mouths.
The garlic butter infused mash potato with gravy was simple, yet sublime, again with a blend of tastes that left you wanting more and more! The Hawaiian pizza looked appealing upon arrival, and again, left us all running out of superlatives when describing our delight in eating.
My Norwegian friends opted for the schnitzel, which considering the owner Uwe is German, made a lot of sense and once again, the presentation, flavour, quality ingredients and Uwe's obvious passion for cooking shone through as the offering was promptly gobbled down with much enjoyment.
Lecker Lecker also offer options such as pizza bases for you to make your own at home along with home-made dark rye bread, and, seeing as Uwe is a baker by trade, my friend could not wait to snap up and take away a bread loaf for later.
A special thank you to Uwe, his wife and family for taking such good care of his new customers, and I especially enjoyed being invited into the kitchen to see how Uwe prepares and cooks his offerings, a kitchen can I add, that sparkles with hygene and brought a smile to my face, seeing as I'm such a stickler for a clean cooking environment!
The bills arrived, and in summary, excellent value for money, lovely quiet ambient eating environment, plenty of refreshment options to suit, delightful, tasty food menu which caters well for foreigners and Thais and surely enough choices to please the most discerning of tastes.
The pizza has to rank as the best I have sampled locally in my honest opinion (shared with by friends I might add) [NB. These are the thoughts of the reviewer who sent this review in to What's On Korat] and the ribs are simply to die for! I highly recommend this establishment for couples, families and larger groups. Uwe and his family are sure to welcome you and we will all be back soon I'm sure to support and enjoy much more of this fantastic cosy little Korat food gem; and their great service and proprietors genuine passion and 'love of food'.
